Bob Hazen, Executive Transition Services Director & Senior Consultant
Bob Hazen has over 30 years’ experience founding, directing, and consulting to programs and organizations that foster socially conscious leadership in Oregon and around the globe. Through a unique combination of entrepreneurial energy and thoughtful leadership, Bob initiated the Executive Transition Services program in 2001 and it has been making a huge impact on nonprofit leadership development ever since.
Bob’s focus centers largely on building the skills of boards and executive leadership to work together to create effective and impactful organizations. Prior to establishing Executive Transitions Services, he had ample experience as an interim leader himself, assessing organizations, and then creating and implementing effective transition plans.
Our clients tell us that Bob brings a calming presence to the work and effectively interfaces with board and staff to focus the group on the task at hand. Since launching the program, Bob and the ETS Team have helped over 150 nonprofit organizations with their executive transitions.
A published author, Bob is also conversant in Spanish and Bislama, spoken in Vanuatu, South Pacific. In addition to other leadership roles, he serves as President of the Board of the Zimbabwe Artists Project in Portland, Oregon.
Bob received an MA in International Nonprofit Management from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont, with a focus on management, cross-cultural communication, and small group facilitation. He received a BA in Economics from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
