Presenter
Jim Morris, Senior Consultant, Solid Ground Consulting
This session explores how you can increase your effectiveness as a leader. We believe strongly that leaders are not born into their role and that leadership competencies can be learned. The work of leadership development, by definition, is personal development. The seminar will provide participants with tools and exercises to continue the personal development work well beyond the workshop.
The focus of the session is authenticity. We will use a model developed by Kouzes and Posner's as a result of many years of research and work on leadership practices. The five leadership practices are:
- Challenge the Process
- Inspire a Shared Vision
- Enable Others to Act
- Model the Way
- Encourage the Heart
After this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Clarify the distinction between leadership and management
- Understand how the five leadership practices can be used to increase effectiveness as a leader
